There are lot of outrages and protests against the show. Whom to blame?

Background:
Shingini Sen Gupta is a 16 year old girl from Kolkata. She was a good dancer, has acted in tele-serials and has even appeared in a Bengali film. She participated in a reality dance Show of a private Bangla TV Channel on May 19th, 2008. She lost her voice and movement after she was allegedly rebuked by a TV reality show judges on May 19 and admitted to NIMHANS Hospital. Bengaluru. Shinjini (16) slipped into depression after being rebuked by judges severely on a reality TV show on May 19. She gradually stopped talking and became paralyzed.
If we carefully observe the issue it’s very clear that the whole education system, parents and community to be held responsible for such a tragedy. We can’t blame reality shows because it’s conducted to explore the hidden talents and provide an opportunity to showcase them. In any competition it’s common that one will win and others will loose. But it’s also true that majority of the aspirants are not even able to reach the stage. In such situation, getting entry into a reality show should be viewed as an opportunity to showcase their talent rather than just competition.

Reality Shows are also responsible
Yes! The judges should be bit more supportive and should encourage participants to accept and correct their mistakes instead of being harsh on them. I know these judges are instructed by the organizers to be harsh on candidates just to bring a curiosity, anxiety and dramatic touch into the show. But it’s not justifiable. They don’t have any rights to damage people’s dignity and self-respect.

Parents – The responsible and the sufferers
Parents are directly responsible for her condition today. It’s their responsibility to teach their pupils to be sportive. Today the parents, relatives and peers are putting lot of pressure and tension on their children. It’s a big mistake. They always compare their children with others and don’t let them find their strengths and weakness. Having a successful child is a big status quo. Under such condition, children will become very stubborn and over confident about themselves and they can’t accept even a small downfall.

Because of their mistake, they are the biggest sufferers today. I’ve seen their parents blaming judges and reality show for their daughter’s condition. Didn’t they know that the reality shows are conducted like that? Didn’t they know that their child can’t face such situation? If they didn’t, there is a big gap between them. They didn’t understand their child yet. They have made their child a frog in the well and sent to an ocean to swim. How is it possible?

Today’s children are so sensible that they can’t even manage a simple real-time problem for themselves. It’s very important to make children a better human being than just successful, because life is too short to rub the shoulders.

It’s very unfortunate to be in such a world where social status is more important than children. It’s very unfortunate that she has fallen to depression and severe mental illness after the show. We hope she will recover soon and become normal.

Related Articles:

Reality show rebuke paralyses Kolkata teenager

Teen Paralysed After Rebuke At TV Reality Show

Girl in hospital after TV reality show

National outcry over Shinjini's plight

Please read till end.

CANCEROUS FOODS / PRODUCTS

INSTANT NOODLES

Dear instant noodle lovers,
Make sure you break for at least 3 days after one session of instant noodles before you eat your next packet! Please read the info shared to me by a doctor. My family stopped eating instant noodles more than 5 years ago after hearing about the wax coating the noodles - the wax is not just in the Styrofoam containers but it coats the noodles. This is why the instant noodles do not stick to each other when cooking.

If one were to examine the ordinary Chinese yellow noodles in the market, one will notice that, in their uncooked state the noodles are oily. This layer of oil prevents the noodles from sticking together.

Wanton noodles in their uncooked state have been dusted with flour to prevent them sticking together. When the hawker cooks the noodles, notice he cooks them in hot water and then rinses them in cold water before cooking them in hot water again.. This process is repeated several times before the noodles are ready to be served. The cooking and rinsing process prevents noodles from sticking together.

The hawker then "lowers the noodles in oil and sauce to prevent the noodles from sticking if they are to be served dry. Cooking instructions for spaghetti require oil or butter to be added in the water when boiling the spaghetti to prevent the pasta from sticking together. Otherwise, one gets a big clump of spaghetti!

There was an SBC (now TCS) actor some years ago, who at a busy time of his career had no time to cook, resorted to eating instant noodles everyday. He got cancer later on. His doctor told him about the wax in instant noodles. The doctor told him that our body will need up to 2 days to clear the wax. There was also an SIA steward who after moving out from his mother's house into his own house, did not cook but ate instant noodles almost every meal. He had cancer, and has since died from it.

Nowadays the instant noodles are referred as " cancer noodles ".

SATAY LOVERS (BARBECUE)

If you all eat Satay, don't ever forget to eat the cucumber, because eating Satay together with carbon after barbequing can cause cancer.
But we have a cure for that... Cucumber should be eaten after we eat the Satay because Satay has carcinogen (a cancer causing element) but cucumber is anti-carcinogenic. So don't forget to eat the cucumber the next time you have Satay's.

PRAWNS (SUGPO) & VIT C

DO NOT eat shrimp / prawn if you have just taken VITAMIN C pills!!
This will cause you to DIE in ARSENIC (As) toxication within HOURS!!

PORK AWARENESS

Try this and see whether the pork you bought has worms. There goes with your "Bak Kut Teh" for those who love it. Most men love to eat this so watch out before it's too late. If you pours Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl out of it. A message from the Health Corporation of Singapore about the bad effects of pork consumption. Pig's bodies contain MANY TOXINS, WORM and LATENT DISEASES.

Although some of these infestations are harboured in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far MORE PREDISPOSED to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because PIGS like to SCAVENGE and will eat ANY kind of food, INCLUDING dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta including their own, garbage, and other pigs. INFLUENZA (flu) is one of the MOST famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is harboured in the LUNGS of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and human in the cooler months.

Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who EAT pork sausage tend to SUFFER MORE during EPIDEMICS of INFLUENZA. Pig meat contains EXCESSIVE quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE compounds, which can lead to ITCHING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc.
Sulphur helps cause FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage.

Eating pork can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content. The pig is the MAIN CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has RICHINOSIS from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork.

Many people have NO SYMPTOMS to warm them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during meat inspections.

SHAMPOO!!!!!!

Cancer-causing substance in shampoos. Go home and check your shampoo. Change before it's too late... Check the ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see they have a substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or simply SLS. This substance is found in most shampoos; manufacturers use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. BUT the fact is, SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong!!! It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke. Shampoos that contains SLS: the new Hemp Shampoo from Body Shop etc. contain this substance.

The first ingredient listed (which means it is the single most prevalent ingredient) in Clairol's Herbal Essences is Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Therefore, I called one company, and I told them their product contains a substance that will cause people to have cancer.. They said, Yeah we knew about it but there is nothing we can do about it because we need that substance to produce foam. By the way Colgate toothpaste also contains the same substance to produce the "bubbles". They said they are going to send me some information.

Research has shown that in the 1980s, the chance of getting cancer is 1 out of 8000 and now, in the 1990s, the chances of getting cancer is 1 out of 3, which is very serious. Therefore, I hope that you will take this seriously and pass this on to all the people you know, and hopefully, we can stop "giving" ourselves cancer-causing agents.
Those 5 days of travelling is a bundle of joy, excitement, and experiences. I visited Ajanta, Ellora, Aurangabad, Daulatabad and couple of temples on the way. These places are some the amazing places that one should visit at least once in a life time.
Aurangabad

First day we visited places in Mumbai, like Siddi Vinayak temple, gateway of India etc. Second day we left for Aurangabad. We stayed here for two days. First we visited Aurangajeb’s Taj of the Deccan. The replica of Taj Mahal, which he constructed in memory of his wife.

Ajanta

Then we moved on to see Ajanta caves. It’s about 2 hrs of journey from Aurangabad. This is one the most important historical place. It’s really amazing. There are around 30caves. Each one is worth watching. Unfortunately we reached there my 4pm. So we are not in a position to visit all the caves as it is closed by 5:30 pm. So if you are planning to visit this place make sure that you reach as early as possible. The mountain and river valley of Ajanta is also good place for trekking. Overall the scene of Ajanta was beautiful.

Daulatabad

The next day we visited Daulatabad fort. The war strategies used in this is amazing. I’ll write about this fort in my next post.

Ellora

Later we moved on to Ellora caves. This is the place which contains cave temples of all three major religions of world. Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Here some temples are carved down from a huge rock. See the pictures. Again we proved that people won’t learn from their mistakes. By the time we reached this place it was around 5pm, where the caves are closed around 6pm.

The End

These are the major places that we visited, with this we also visited Shanishinapur on the way to Shirdi then we visited Trayambakeshwar temple on the way to Nasik. As usual journeys take lot of our quality time during this trip. But nobody can help it because of the distance between these places. Finally we are back to Mumbai with those five days of sweet memories.
If you visited these exciting places share the same here in comment section.

As I try to find answer to these questions various thoughts and philosophies comes to my mind. These thoughts will be posted in this section.

Education & Career

This is one of my favorite topics. My dad always uses to say a Sanskrit Slokam. The meaning is:

Providing(or donating) food (Annadanam) is a great deed (Param Danam). Providing knowledge (Vidya danam) is even more superior (Atha Param). Food gives temporary relief (Annena Kshanika Trupti), but knowledge gives satisfaction for the life time.(Yaavajjeemcha Vidyaya).

Education in right way is much important. So this section is to serve that purpose. Here I post articles that help student community to pursue education in a right way.
You can also Subscribe to VIDYA - Education & Career by Email

↑ Grab this Headline Animator

Please go through these sections. You don't have a single clue where to start. I'm not used to directly telling people about myself. I like people to know about me through my work than telling it myself. But since you are here undoubtedly to find out who I am, I should tell something about me, so that you will not get disappointed. At least telling some thing even in haphazard way is much better than not telling anything.
I need not to say that my name is Ravi as my blog name suggests. Born and grown up in a typical Indian middle class family with lot of dreams (Chote chote ankome bada bada sapna….). Completed schooling in one of the residential school wondering who am I? Why I born as a human being? Until I complete my primary school I didn’t have any idea about what I want to become or what I want in life (as many of us grown up like that only. Also I didn’t have many options to choose from being in a middle class family). I used to say I will become doctor, engineer and all other fancy designations that my parents used to fill in my mind according to their ambitions and fantasies.

Personality & Passions

I’m an introvert and humble guy. I rarely talk to strangers. I’ll Talk less and work more. I like I should be known by the work that I do. I like solitude. I’ve very few friends, but they are true friends of mine. I can understand complexities of computers than people (That’s why Psychology always attracts me – How one can easily understand people?).

I love to read books and magazines. We had a very good collection of books in our school library. So I became an active member of readers club. By that way I used to read lot of novels. That really helped me to shape my personality, character and helped me to know about my self. I like to read Yandamoori Veerendranath, Poorna Chandra Tejasvi and Ravi Belegere.

For me work and hobbies are not different. I want to live each and every moment happy. So I want to work where I can see the purpose. Whatever I do, I do it passionately. My passions include creative arts, designing, Blogging, Technology, Business, Psychology, Spirituality, history and much more. I really wonder having so diversified interests, where I will head. I really don’t know the answer. But whatever I do, I enjoy doing it.

I will be more creative when I left alone and given full responsibility. I emphasize more on quality rather than quantity. The work that demands creativity will attracts me a lot. (No wonder Movies, Music and Advertisement are my passion – I love to be in these industries)

Planning and organizing events are my favorite things. I realized my passion towards these things in my school days. Where I used actively take part in all those competitions, events or sports not as a participant but as an organizer. (Yeah I’m also participant in some events and competitions like quizzes and debates).

Education & Career

I’ve done my graduation in computer applications. Then I worked in a small firm as a computer instructor and graphic designer (As it a very small firm I was everything there which you cannot attach any designations). Later I’ve completed my MBA in Finance and currently working for a software company as Business Analyst.

The End

So….that’s it. That’s me. The crazy and the even crazier. Not what you expected, I’m sure, but an insight into my life nonetheless. Now have fun learning more about me through all the other stuff I’ve made/written/done, as scattered about this website :-D. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Read more about my blogs

Subscribe through RSS Feed reader

My Personal Blog

Technology & gadgets

Education & Career

Spirituality & Self Awareness

Contact me

You can contact me through E-Mail

contactme@ravisblognet.com

This time with my own domain name www.ravisblognet.com. The whole process of setting up the blog, designing, choosing templates and platform etc. has taken up most of my time from past few months. I enjoyed a lot this whole process while lot of new things I learned which I will be sharing in my Technology section in my future posts.

I choose www.ravisblognet.com as my domain name because my blog is not a single blog. Instead it is a collection of various blogs which I divided based on my interests. You can find the link to all those blogs in the right side column. It’s my network of blogs. This blog will act as a index for my all other blogs and blog for miscellaneous posts that won't comes under any of other categories that I own.

Mean while I’d like to thank few people for their great support in bringing this blog to you. My first thanks to Navdeep & Naveen brothers of Dezinerfolio.com for their wonderful creative wordpress template. I also thank Mr.Jack of jackbook.com. They converted the wordpress theme designed by dezinerfolio to blogger template and also converted two column template to three column one. Which I used here with mild changes according to my requirements. With that I visited more than 200 blogs to learn the art of blogging and designing. Thanks to all of them. Though I’m not able to list all those blogs here, I’ll will be linking to their blogs later when I start posting about my blogging experience in Technology section.

Now let me introduce you with my first post. My first post will be in my Education Section(Named "VIDYA" - means education in Sanskrit) one of my favorite topics of interest.

Recently While I was browsing through NASSCOMs website I came across their industry communiqué to academia - 8th issue. It speaks about various measures taken by NASSCOM to increase the efficiency of IT Workforce in <st2:country-region st="on"><st2:place st="on">India</st2:place></st2:country-region>. Among that the opinion article by <st2:personname st="on"><st1:title st="on">Prof.</st1:title> <st1:givenname st="on">P</st1:givenname> <st1:middlename st="on">S</st1:middlename> <st1:sn st="on">Gill</st1:sn></st2:personname>
attracted me, on which I'm commenting as my first post in the VIDYA Section under the heading "Will Exams improve your skills?".

You can subscribe to my blog through your RSS Reader or through e-mail to get the posts and updates.
